October 19, 2009 - 12:30pm

Are you suddenly seeing orange, but you don’t know why? A celebration is on. The librarians are in high gear, and everyone is talking about Open Access Week. You’re asking, “What is Open Access and why should I care?”

Make that question count and give the movement a slogan! Send us your best Tweet answering the question “What is Open Access, and why should I care?" in 140 characters or less.

Send your Tweets to @uclaGSA and use hashtag #oaw09.

Tweet all week long, from Monday, October 19 at 5 pm to Friday, October 23 at 5 pm. You can send multiple tweets, but only the best tweet wins. Learn more about the open access from http://www.openaccessweek.org/

GSA officers will judge the accumulated tweets, and a winner will be announced on Monday, October 26.

First prize wins an orange Ipod Nano and runners up will receive an Open Access t-shirt.
