Fourth Annual Issue of New Playwrights at UCLA available in print and online!
December 13, 2011 - 10:00am
On a cold, January morning of 2007, four playwrights in the MFA program in Playwriting at UCLA huddled in the Murphy Sculpture Garden discussing their desire to see new works read, staged, and produced for future production. They immediately started on producing a reading series and by the summer of 2008, they had published their first volume of dramatic work.
New Playwrights continues to promote the reading series as a method of fine tuning work prior to production or submission to theater companies and writing competitions, as well a dynamic forum allowing collaboration between actors and directors.
The journal allows for the preservation of MFA Playwrights work developed at UCLA and provides a way to showcase the plays in a literary format.
The 4th annual issue of New Playwrights at UCLA is available for sale in print through UC Press and for free online.
